Europe, Another Day in The Hague

The HagueThe Hague

Laziness. It has swallowed us from the very morning. So, today there will be no throw to any distant location and there will be no visits to any museum. We will take our time to explore the city, walking through the streets slowly and meditatively.

My friend usually goes to a local market in any city he stays. First, I thought that it was a waste of time, but later I realised that the local markets are the fantastic snapshots of natives' real life. It is another chance to discover the bright colours of the local inhabitants' life and to experience the truthful emotions.

In the market you can buy some fresh food or piece of clothes with a good discount, and it is also possible to communicate freely with local people while bargaining with them. In addition, you may have an opportunity to taste unusual street food.
Here, I have tasted sandwich with haring, which is a small soused fish from the North Sea. Actually, it is hugely popular in Holland, and it is traditionally eaten with raw onions. It is a nice snack, but the cost of 2.5 euro is rather pricey.

Our leisurely strolling continues. We are passing by numerous canals, walk through the streets lined with cafe tables and unattended bicycles. It is clean and cozy everywhere. The Hague is the comfortable city for living, to my mind.

Again, we are in the beautiful courtyard of the Binnenhof with a few visitors. This is an ideal place for seclusion and reflection.

By the way, tomorrow we are going to set off for another amazing Dutch city, the capital of the Netherlands, the city of 165 canals, 1281 bridges and 2500 houseboats. I can't wait to get there and to see it with my own eyes! However, today we are still staying in the Hague, trying to find some interesting spots and to take the superb photos.

Alanya, The Fruit Market

A fruit market in AlanyaChoosing the fresh fruits on the market

Another sunny morning in Alanya. After having breakfast I rushed to the beach. I should be there in the right time, before the sun starts to burn cruelly.

The sea is storming a little. And it is really funny to watch and experience its power.

It is Friday. So, there is the special bazaar organised in Alanya, where you may buy fruit and vegetables. Everything is fresh and for the reasonable price. It is operating till 6 pm, but at the end they more likely will give you some discount, if you start bargaining.

At home I could enjoy the harvested crop. The bananas and grapes were the best.

There are so many shops, bars and restaurant in the Boulevard of Ataturk. I stayed for the night coffee at the Simit Saray. Americano with milk cost me only 6.75 liras.

I continue my walking in the shining shopping streets.

Cyprus, Fruit Market

In Larnaka I was shown a fruit market with a wide variety of fruit. Undoubtedly, the taste of fruit bought here is much more delicious than from the supermarkets. Moreover, in front of the market building you can buy some type of fruit for less money. For example, we bought 10 mangoes for 5 euro only. And the quality of mangoes was surprisingly good.

The freshest pomegranates and the sweetest mangoes.

A tamed dragon.

The result of our trip to the market. Breakfast at the balcony.

The raging sea in Larnaka.

The best burgers in Larnaka from Jemms American Steak Bar.

Pay attention to the working hours of the shop. In fact, it is not a joke but the reality in Cyprus.

Tired with the sun.

Spain, Heavy Rain in Barcelona

A freshly mowed lawnAfter the rain

That was such an exhausting day, but at the same time we had real fun with all those events.
First of all, we started our morning with breakfast at nearby cafe, which was visited mostly by local people.
Later we went to the Meditarranean aquarium with 80 metres long underwater tunnel, where you walk among the sharks and other baleful creatures.
After aqua world, we went to taste jamon at the most famous market in Barcelona - La Boqueria, located on the La Rambla street.
Finally, there was an unsuccessful attempt to reach the impressive Park Guell. Unfortunately, we were caught by a heavy shower, so we had to turn back almost having reached the destination. Nevertheless, we were happy to discover a really nice cafe Maigot, where we had a good lunch and fresh coffee.
