London, The Way Back

At the Heathrow airportThe lunch at the Heathrow airport

I am at the airport of Heathrow waiting for the plane boarding. The trip was both educational and entertaining. Definitely, it was a good practice of my English, and I could dramatically improve the speaking skills. For sure, I would like to visit London again and to see other numerous spots which I was not able to catch due to the lack of time. In fact, London has the countless number things to offer for everyone.

London, South Bank

The London EyeThe Parliament and the Westminster bridge

South Bank is an entertainment and commercial district in central London, next to the River Thames opposite the City of Westminster. The South Bank is a significant arts and entertainment district. The Southbank Centre comprises the Royal Festival Hall, the Queen Elizabeth Hall and The Hayward Gallery, as well as The Royal National Theatre, the London IMAX super cinema and BFI Southbank.

London, Pubs' Life

On London's street

London has more than 3500 pubs. And I already have the favourite pub "The Cambridge". Pub culture is an integral part of British life. It is something you should experience if you want to learn about Brits and their culture, even if you don't drink alcohol. On Friday evening you may not find free seats inside, but you may join the crowds of people, communicating with each other and drinking a pint of beer outside.

London, Covent Garden

Covent Garden marketSt Paul's church in Covent Garden

When tourists say “Covent Garden” they mean the covered market in the center of the Covent Garden Piazza, but “Covent Garden” actually describes an entire neighborhood in London that used to have a so-called red-light reputation.
Covent garden is also known as a home for street performance. Interestingly, Covent Garden is the only district in London to have a license for street performers and entertainers.

London, West End

China Town in LondonA theatre in London

Soho in central London is the best place to find live entertainment, interesting food and pulsing nightlife. The area covers roughly one square mile (or 2.6 square kilometres), so it's easy to explore on foot.
Soho is bordered by Oxford Street, Regent Street, Leicester Square and Charing Cross Road. Interestingly, Chinatown is not the part of the Soho area, but sometimes people also mention Chinatown when talking about Soho.
Soho is near the heart of London's theatre area. And this evening I am going to see the well-known musical Chicago at the Cambridge Theatre.

London, Green Village

Greenwich universityGreenwich park

Many people heard that Greenwich is the home of time. This is the place, where eastern and western hemispheres meet. The National Maritime Museum, the Old Royal Navy College, the Greenwich Park and the Royal Observatory are the must-see spots to observe in the town of Greenwich, which is actually one of the boroughs of London.
