Israel. Hustle and bustle.

The big waves on the sea in NetaniaA tree is bending down from the high wind

Today I had to miss my excursion to Tel Aviv, which was presented by Israel diamond center for free. The thing is that I left my jacket at the restaurant yesterday and I decided to collect it this morning. Fortunately, it was given me back when I asked them about my loss.

So, I don't know how to spend this day. At first I wanted to go to Latrun where I could visit the tank museum. Then I considered going to Akko, but a woman at information desk in a bus station said that today's schedule is not frequent and the public transport stops early. In fact, it is Friday, the beginning of Shabat.

Ok then, I decided to go to Tel Aviv, but the last bus is at 16 o'clock. Luckily, I have been there before and I can orientate myself easier. It is bus 605.

This time I was walking up and down Allenby street and Rotshield boulvard. Street musicians, flea market carmel, numerous shops and friendly atmosphere - all this can be interesting for everyone. But, honestly speaking, I didn't like hustle and bustle of the city.

Surprisingly, while leaving the center at 15 o'clock I noticed that life in the city was coming to a standstill. Many shops were closed and there was no crowd in the streets. Friday, Shabat.

When I arrived to the hotel, there were a lot of local people there. It was extremely noisy. The receptionist said that it was the end of the week, and local families are used to celebrate it at the hotels.

This evening I went to the Chinese restaurant Chung Shing to have a dinner. I ordered spicy beef with bean sauce and fried banana. There was also a Chinese beer for drink. Delicious. It was the perfect ending of the day and completion of my trip to this wonderful country.

Eventually, the storm has started. And the sea has raged all the night as if it was saying goodbye.

Israel. Ancient times.

The remains of ancient CesariyaThe remains of ancient Cesariya

It is cloudy today, luckily. I feel that my skin got sunburn already and it needs some rest for a while.

My next point of destination is Cesariya, the most ancient city in Mediterranean district. There is no direct route to the city, so I have to change the bus. The stop should be in Hedera. In Netaniya I take bus 730. In Hedera I take the bus 76. It is a really long way because the last bus makes a big loop. I believe, in that case the better idea could be taking an excursion, so I would just sit in minibus and relax. Stillб all this is for my experience. Moreover, I was the only passenger to Cesariya. The driver even played a joke that the bus was special for me, like taxi. Fun.

Well, in Cesariya you can see a lot of ruins and one of the main attractions is the ancient theatre.

I was afraid of coming back, because I did not know anything about schedule and I could miss infrequent bus. However, everything was ok.

In Natania I went to a shop and occasionally met a woman, who is working as assistant here. She told me about some facts from her life. The main idea was that it was impossible to find a good work in Israel without any acquaintance. However, she said that it was not bad to live here even in hot summer. Still, I could feel that there was lack of communication with Russian people in her life. It is sad. My strong belief that a person should live in a country where he was born, and it is wrong to look for a good fortune in another place.

Now I am sitting at the restaurant London, drinking coffee after kebab and relaxing. By the way, the portions in Israel are so big, that you should be careful not to order many dishes at one time.

Israel. The city of dream.

The modern buildings of Tel Aviv

It is a very sunny and rather hot morning today! I decided to walk along the seashore after having my breakfast. There are many young people who go surfing here. At the same time I can see more elderly people from Germany or Britain and of course from Russia.

Russians are everywhere in Natania. People say that even the famous tennis player Maria Sharapova has got two flats here, and you often can meet her in the streets.

Only 10 shekels an I am in Tel Aviv. My bus number is 605. The trip takes about 45 minutes.

I arrived to the enormous bus station. There is an information desk, but a woman announced the wrong number, which I even couldn't find.
The local bus service is on the seventh floor, but there is no suitable route for me. So I went on the fourth floor and found the exit to the street.

I walked along Levinsky street, then I turned to Hertzl street, and after having walked for some time I found seashore. Honestly, it was not difficult, because I could smell the sea and I could feel the wind of the sea. It is unbelievable that I can choose the right direction by intuition!

Seafront is extremely picturesque.

What was interesting I met on my way? Grand skyscrapers and old beautiful houses, fishermen and dealers, shops and flea market.

After a long walk I had a meal at the seaside restaurant. I ordered some salads and Fettuccine with seafood. For drink I tried GoldStar beer. It was delicious but too much for my small stomach. I paid 115 shekels for my lunch. And the sum included the service (12%).

By the same path I returned to the bus station and got on the bus 506 from the sixth floor.

As usual, at night I go to the beach and enjoy listening to the sound of the surf.

Israel. Galilean mountains.

Somewhere in JerusalemA photo with a palm tree

It has been raining throughout the night. Chilly. However, I have had a good sleep. I should mention that local people are really glad to have rain, because Israel greatly depends on rainwater. They also use the methods of distilling sea water, but the rains are the main source of fresh water these days.
The breakfasts at the hotel are diverse, but unfortunately the porridge, which is my favorite dish for breakfast, is poor.

Today I have a trip to Galilee, the north part of Israel. First we drove by Armageddon, where according to the tradition will be the last battle between good and evil.

Then we arrived to Nazareth, the place where Maria and Joseph were announced about birth of Messiah, and where Jesus spent his childhood. The most important sacred place in Nazareth is the church of the Annunciation.

Our guide for this day is a very expressive woman Rina. It was rather interesting to listen to her stories and extracts from the Bible, but I caught a little information.

Then we moved to the river Iordan which is supposed to be holy river according to many religions. There is a tradition, that you should dip into the water three times if you want that all your sins would be absolved. Usually they offer to buy the baptismal shirt for 20 dollars or so. I washed only my face.

Then we visited many churches, which were built at the place where Jesus Christ worked his wonders. Most of the places are located close to Lake Kineret, which is the country’s largest and most important source and reservoir of drinking water. It was here, where Jesus Christ walked on the water.
The excursion was very informative, and unsurprisingly I got tired at the end of the day.
