Alanya, The Day of Return

Turquoise sea waterAntalya airport

This is the final day of my staying in Turkey. In general, I am quite satisfied with the hotel. I realize that it could be much better, if I paid more, but the chosen option is optimal for my limited budget. Nevertheless, the atmosphere in this marvelous city is great, and the sea, what is most important, is superb here. So, the hotel itself is not such an important thing while staying in Alanya, if you are not far from the beach.

The last visit of Kleopatra beach, the last coffee at Starbucks, the last pomegranate juice. Goodbye, Alanya!

They picked up from the hotel 5 hours before the flight. The trip to the airport took us about 2 hours. Still, the check-in was not opened yet, and we had to wait in the common area. Moreover, the taking off was delayed for half an hour due to the late arrival of the airplane...
Finally, I am aboard. Our route goes over Turkey, Black Sea, Stavropol region and Kazakhstan. The estimated duration of the flight is 5 hours and twenty minutes.

Alanya, Paragliding on The Beach

ParaglidingOn the beach

By happy chance, the good weather is still holding. And I am trying to use every minute to catch sun and to get more tan. So, today I have visited the beach several times.

I continue my walking around the city and try to memorise all the remarkable spots on my way.

Now I am near the old shipyard, where I discovered a nice home restaurant under the medieval walls. I stayed here for lunch, and therefore I had to miss a meal time at my hotel. But it was worth it!
Dolma, the traditional bread with cheese, olives and orange juice. All in all, the supper cost me 13.5 lira. I would say that it was cheap, but above all it was tasty.

Let me introduce here some useful information about geography of Alanya. So, the town is divided east–west by a rocky peninsula, which is undoubtedly the distinctive feature of the city. The harbour, city centre, and Keykubat Beach, named after the Sultan Kayqubad I, are on the east side of the peninsula. Damlatas Beach, named for the famous "dripping caves", and Kleopatra Beach are to the west.

Paragliding is another popular type of amusement in Alanya. You will have the great opportunity to feel as if you are a free bird in the Alanya's sky with its great Mediterranean beach and castle view.
Paragliding flights in Alanya take place in the 700 meters of Taurus mountain, and usually they last about 20 minutes with landing on the famous Cleopatra Beach. The price of this attraction may cost up to 50 euro.

After visiting the landing area of the paragliders in the left part of the Cleopatra beach I walked along 2 kilometres coast and admired the promenade with its numerous palms and flower-beds.

The last night I was spending at the restaurant Kasif nearby my hotel with one glass of Efes and grilled cheese Haloomi. The cheese was delicious, but the beer was quite plane for my taste.
I wondered that my receipt included the sum in different currencies, such as dollars, euros, pounds of sterling, etc. Everything was organized here for the comfort of the guest.

In my opinion, the most positive thing about the restaurants in Turkey is that service there is very pleasing. For example, the manager says goodbye to everyone and shakes the guests' hand with genuine respect. I believe, it is an interesting and effective practice if you want the guests would come back again! And it definitely works.

Alanya, Another Day of Sun

The promenade along Alanya seashoreA ship on the horizon

The day was mainly devoted to the shopping. And this shopping was generally for my new friend. Nevertheless, I have also made some small purchases. Honestly, I was really jealous of the ability of my fellow to bargain. At the same time, I understood that it is much easier to get a discount if you are working in pairs, so we took a chance to master our skills in acting. Sometimes it was not pleasant at all to communicate with the sellers, but in many cases it was really funny!
Still, there was some time for visiting the beach and other leisure activities, such as walking along the promenade and idle strolling in the city's streets.

On this wonderful sunny day I met so many wonderful flowers and could not but enrich my photo gallery!

Alanya, Safari Tour

Jeep safariA jeep on the road

Today I have booked a Jeep safari tour into the Taurus Mountains. They claim that we are going to reach 1000 meters height. The whole trip was accompanied by loud music and jokes from our light-hearted driver.

During our trip we have had several stops in some places, where they earned money on tourists by selling the goods and beverages. It was the most annoying part, but the excursion itself was good.

In general, it was funny, but exhausting at the end.

Our driver tried to make the journey extreme. And he succeeded in that venture. Luckily, nobody was hurt.

The most beautiful thing about our excursion was the 750 metres long Sapadere canyon with numerous waterfalls.

There were even brave people, who tried swimming in the ice cold water of a mountain river.

After visiting the canyon we headed for the cave Cuceler. I decided not to enter the cave, because the entrance fee (9 lira) was not included into the excursion. However, I made the excellent photos from the viewing platform. Absolutely for free!

Alanya, Mountain Climber

Among the rocksOn the slope of the Castle Hill'

Today I and my friend decided to conquer the mountain and to climb the hill on foot. It took some efforts and time. Yet, it was not extremely difficult. So, the reward for our small suffering are these picturesque views!

We came down from the mountain quite comfortably and found ourselves on the beach of Cleopatra. We could not miss the opportunity to enjoy the sea and fine weather again.

I felt completely satisfied and happy!
